The Prospect of Power Generation in Indonesia.
Indonesia Will Build New Power Generation Plants to 35,000 MW until 2019

Indonesia with over 250 million of population (40% of ASEAN Population) is known has large renewable energy resources. The Indonesia government has project to set up the construction of power generation of 35,000 MW and build one million homes. The project consists of 291 plants, 732 transmission (75,000 sets of tower), 1,375 units of substations, 300 km conductor aluminum, 2,600 sets of transformer, 3.5 million tons of steel. The government will prioritize the development of environmentally friendly power plants to meet its target of generating an additional 35,000 megawatts (MW) of electricity by 2019. The total 35,000 MW worth of power plants targeted to be built within the next five years, 90 percent of them are coal fueled. This must be changed in stages as there are other renewable energy sources, such as geothermal, hydro, biomass, wave, wind and solar that can produce thousands of MW of electricity.

Indonesia government also provide incentives with a hope that investors would be attracted to invest in energy production.“There will be special incentives for investors who agree to develop environmentally friendly power plants, so that more business people will hopefully enter into this sector.

Sincerely
